How to take a temperature with the Kinsa QuickCare?

To take a temperature with Kinsa Quickcare, follow these simple steps;

  1. Tap the button on top of the QuickCare to turn it on. You will hear a long beep.
  2. Once you see 3 dashes flashing on the display ( – – – ) your QuickCare is ready to use.
  3. Place the tip of the QuickCare as desired: under the base of the tongue, up under the armpit, or with only the silver tip placed in the rectum.
  4. Hold still and try not to move during the temperature taking process.
  5. After ~10 seconds, you’ll see the temperature reading appear on the QuickCare’s display.
  6. The QuickCare will then automatically turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity.  You can also hold down the button at the top of the QuickCare to turn it off manually.

IMPORTANT TIPS

  • Do not place the QuickCare before turning it on. Always turn it on first, then place it.
  • Be sure to let the QuickCare cool down for up to 10 seconds between readings.
  • Wait 15 minutes after bathing, exercising or consuming anything hot, cold, spicy or chewy.

Setting up your Kinsa QuickCare thermometer

Getting started with your QuickCare thermometer is super quick and easy! Here’s how:

  1. Download the Kinsa app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.
  3. Launch the Kinsa app.
  4. Tap More > Add a New Thermometer
  5. Tap QuickCare
  6. Turn on QuickCare

Within 10 seconds, you should see a prompt asking you to “Ignore” or “Connect.” If you see this, tap “Connect” and go through the setup flow.

In the future, be sure to open your Kinsa app during or after temperature taking to take advantage of all of Kinsa’s smart features and guidance.

 

Connection Issues

If your QuickCare doesn’t connect after the following the steps above, try this to correct it:

  1. Turn off QuickCare by holding down the button (if it is on)
  2. Force Quit your Kinsa app
  3. Turn Airplane mode on
  4. Turn Airplane mode off
  5. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  6. Open the Kinsa app
  7. (iOS) Tap More > Add a New Thermometer / (Android) Tap  in the top left, then  Add a New Thermometer in the drop down menu.
  8. Tap QuickCare
  9. Turn on QuickCare

Within 10 seconds, you should see a prompt asking you to “Ignore” or “Connect.” If you see this, tap “Connect” and go through the setup flow.
